The inspection awarded the Academy an outstanding rating in three key areas: behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and sixth form provision, while rating it good in both leadership and management and quality of education. Ofsted observed an ‘overwhelming sense of community and mutual respect’ throughout the school, noting that students are ‘happy in school and value the opportunities to support each other’. This contributes to a vibrant atmosphere conducive to learning. Ìý
The report commends the Academy’s mission, noting how it encourages students to support one another and strive for success. Academically, Â鶹 Collegiate Academy has made significant strides, with Ofsted recognising its ‘highly ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum.’ Inspectors acknowledged the Academy’s recent improvements, particularly in subject areas where curriculum updates have taken effect, though they recommended continued focus to ensure consistency across all subjects. In most subjects ‘pupils achieve well, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)’, Ofsted noted, highlighting the school’s inclusive approach and commitment to helping every student reach their potential.Ìý
The Sixth Form is a particular highlight in the report, earning an outstanding rating. Students benefit from ‘exceptional learning and enrichment opportunities,’ and Ofsted commended sixth-form teachers for engaging students in ‘highly ambitious, challenging and independent learning.’ Sixth-form students contribute to the school community by supporting younger pupils, embodying the Academy’s ethos of mutual respect and mentorship.Ìý
Student behaviour across the school was described as ‘exemplary,’ with students showing high levels of focus and engagement in their learning. Ofsted also recognised the Academy’s successful efforts in encouraging strong attendance and providing robust support for students who may face challenges.Ìý
Personal development is a key strength of the school, as detailed in the Ofsted report. ‘All pupils are exceptionally well prepared for life beyond school,’ inspectors wrote, pointing to the extensive PSHE (personal, social, health, and economic) curriculum, which equips students with essential life skills and a strong foundation for future success. Additionally, external speakers and career guidance sessions help students understand the impact of local and national issues on their lives, providing relevant and impactful learning experiences.Ìý
